Gregg International School K2 Class
Course Descriptions
Mathematics - Children are introduced to mathematics in an enjoyable way that will help them to develop a positive association with numbers. Interactive tasks include counting fingers, singing number songs, and identifying number names.
Reading - The teacher reads stories to children, twice each day for full-day students. Favorite stories are repeated to build the children's recognition of key words and phrases. Children are encouraged to retell the stories as they wish in order to cultivate the natural creativity that each child possesses.
Writing/Drawing - Children begin to explore and develop the motor skills necessary for handwriting and drawing by utilizing a wide variety of media. In addition, the teacher encourages them to talk about the meaning of their work, so that the children will receive positive reinforcement for their efforts.
Science - Observation using our senses provides the basis for scientific investigation. Children have the opportunity to experiment with various materials, such as water and rice, so that they can learn to distinguish between the differences and similarities of things according to sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell.
