WELCOME TO GIS K/3
The K/3 program at GREGG International School provides a fun and friendly environment to open doors for your child’s first school experience. GiS (GREGG International School) has provided a loving and caring atmosphere since 1986 in which students can gain self-confidence, life-long friendships, and learn about the bigger world outside of their family and homes. Through songs, free-play, and hands-on learning, students grow their sense of self, independence, and a love for learning. K/3 students participate in a curriculum of activities such as basic mathematics skills, beginning phonetic sounds, and social behavioral skills as well as Circle Time and Arts/Crafts.

Learn through daily activities, such as measuring, sorting and comparing. The concepts of size, shape and quantity are taught in a fun yet practical way to engender in each child a positive attitude toward numbers and their many applications.
Cultivating a passion in children for the written word at an early age prepares them for the challenges and fulfillment that reading provides. Interactive techniques are applied in conjunction with a wide variety of children’s literature, to help a child realize the benefits of, and pleasures from, reading. Classroom activities focus on comprehension of, and self-expression through, narratives to which the children can easily relate.
Children develop a capacity for symbolic expression through drawing, scribbling and painting.
Participation in simple experiments and activities requiring careful observation introduce children to scientific reasoning. Questions about phenomena, and the discussions related to them, help a child become not only accustomed to, but also comfortable with, the wonders of science.
Children this age are learning that human relationships are indispensable in their lives. Family, school and friends comprise the significant social groups to which children belong. With this starting point, they learn to communicate sensitively about the similarities and differences among themselves, as well as how to solve problems related to their everyday lives, rooted in cooperation with others.
