International Students = International Learning

The World Is Ours!

For social studies class, the G3/4 students learned about the United Nations. They learned why the world needs such an organization and how delegates come together to discuss major world issues. They also took part in short Model-UN Conference in class and got to be delegates of their home country or the country of their parents. During the conference, they discussed how each nation should address the coronavirus and how they should work together to combat the issue. We wanted our students to know that they are valued as individuals and their backgrounds make they all special and unique. Having our young students being able to understand and explain the United Nations to others was very satisfying for the teachers. Next week, they will learn about the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for Kids.
