K5 : New School Year / Safety Week

“Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don't be afraid.” Frederick Buechner

We started our new school year and jumped right into Safety Week! We had our first, all-school fire drill and earthquake drill, making sure we all have a clear idea when it comes to the procedure of evacuation in the event of these emergencies. In kindergarten classes, we learned about Fire Safety, Traffic Safety and Home Safety!

This new school year, we had to add some additional rules according COVID-19. During snack time/lunch time, students sit facing in one direction and are encouraged not to talk. We continue to wear our masks throughout the day and wash our hands frequently. It’s unfortunate we have to do these restrictive things especially with this age group, but the students are doing a good job following these new rules and doing their best to stop any unnecessary spread of COVID-19.

We’re looking forward to a safe but FUN new school year ahead, where we can enjoy each other , learn and grow together, making the best out of the situation.
